MOROCCO – Dependent Children Must Obtain Residence Permits

, 04/07/2019

The Moroccan government has announced to all foreign diplomatic missions in Morocco that, effective 1 July 2019, it will enforce the current regulation requiring all foreign national children resident in Morocco to obtain residence permits (“cartes de séjour”). Previously, this regulation was not enforced in practice.

Apparently, the regulation will be strictly enforced from September with a two-month implementation period, although it is recommended to begin the process of applying for residence cards for dependent children as soon as possible, to minimise the possibility of difficulties with the immigration and customs authorities.
